Jack McDonnell holds the trophy aloft following Ireland’s win in the Men’s Home Internationals

Congratulations to Jack McDonnell & the  Ireland Team on winning the Home International Golf Championship

Ireland went  into the final day of the Home International Golf against England where at least a draw would ensure Ireland would claim overall victory having won their 2 opening matches against Scotland & Wales . However  Ireland lost the morning foursomes 4/1 and went into the afternoons singles needing to win 6.5 points to take home the Cup. It was nip and tuck throughout the afternoon and Jack McDonnell played his part in winning his singles match 3/2 with no less than 7 birdies in his round. The match went right down to the wire with the deciding match going Irelands way on the final green ensuring Ireland gained the necessary point to level with England at 7.5 pts and beating Scotland in the overall 2.5 pts to 2pts.
